I think Sebastião Salgado’s work best embodies the human spirit than any other photographer I can think of. His work is brutal. It’s hard to look. But it shows how humans can push through any trial they may have.
Salgado has worked for decades creating photo books documenting human migration or even landscapes. His diversity in subjects shows how skilled he is and his black and white photos are the best I’ve ever seen.
He began his career in the 70s in Paris and has worked with agencies like Sygma, Gamma, and Magnum.
