Like a few others on this list, you can’t make a list of photographers without them.
Annie Leibovitz has been a inspiration for me once I saw her photographs for Rolling Stones back in the 70s. Her photos were spontaneous, yet so perfectly timed. They let you into the world of your favorite celebrities and the world loved her images because of that.
It’s so inspiring because after the 10 years at Rolling Stones, Leibovitz shot 142 covers for the publication. Although she was the Chief Photographer it’s crazy to see someone published that often.
Her images went from documentary to more commercial once she started shooting for Vanity Fair and Vogue.
She creates images that are so perfectly executed, it’s like it was created even before it was created.
Some of my favorite photos of hers are of John Lennon and Yoko Ono and the cast of the most recent Star Wars.
