So Rosie Matheson is up next. Matheson and Maccabee are very similar to me and I get a lot of inspiration from them. Matheson is from the UK where she photographs mainly portraits and documentary series for well known brands.
In an interview with It’s Nice That, Matheson says she often goes back to the quote, “In a portrait, I’m searching for the silence in somebody,” by legendary photographer Henri Cartier Bresson.
She started a series entitled “Boys” where she explored modern masculinity and how men are forced to fit a certain masculine ideal. I think that is such an art school topic, It’s an interesting project nonetheless.
I really love how soft her focus is and how she takes an emphasis on the eyes. She picks greats subjects for her photos.
